This is my art of Ranni the witch and her subordinates (Iji, Blaidd, Selivus), inspired by the incredible artistry of Drew Struzan. His iconic movie posters have always captivated me, and I wanted to create a poster for the best questline in the game. Next up might just be General Radahn…I hope so.
To be honest, this kind of illustration takes a lot of time, especially since I work on it during my spare moments. It typically goes through five phases:
Sketching Phase: 🖌️ This is where the fun begins—finding the perfect composition, framing the characters, and setting the overall mood.
Black and White Phase: 🌑 Here, I focus on finding the best lighting and mood, establishing contrasts without going too deep into details.
Color Exploration: 🎨 I usually mock up around 5 or 6 color schemes to set the right tone for the piece.
The Grueling Phase: 😩 The phase I dread the most—trying to bring everything together. For hours, the illustration looks like a mess, and I struggle to push through. It's tough, but it starts to come together eventually.
Enjoying the Final Product: 🥳 Finally, after about 60 hours of work, it's like a weird relationship—you hate it at times, but in the end, you can't help but love the final result.
